Assam Agribusiness Investment Fund (AAIF)
The Assam Agribusiness Investment Fund (AAIF) isplanned with a corpus of INR 250 crore, and aims tostrengthen the rural ecosystem, foster agricultural productivity, and increase employment opportunities inthe state through risk capital investments in SMEs.
In line with the same Caspian Impact Investment AdviserPvt. Ltd. (Caspian Equity) signed an MoU with AssamRural Infrastructure and Agricultural Services (ARIAS)Society, an autonomous body under the Government ofAssam. Under the partnership, ARIAS will be the anchorinvestor for the AAIF, which will be managed by CaspianEquity as the fund manager. With anchor funding fromthe World Bank through Assam Rural Infrastructure andAgricultural Services (ARIAS) Society, AAIF will operateas a Category II Alternative Investment Fund registeredwith the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
With a corpus of INR 250 crore, AAIF is a unique sector-specific fund that willmainly invest in small and medium enterprises in Assam, India. Fund will supporthigh-growth and high-impact agribusiness SMEs for vibrant and resilientagribusiness/agri-food value chains in Assam
